Marketing Requirements
- MR 1. The device will be reliable in determining the health status of a picture of a patient's retina.
- MR2. The device will be powered by a battery pack.
- MR 3. The device will not weigh more than 2.5 pounds. The Computer is not included in this measurement.
- MR 4. The device will be presented with all electrical components protected from the user.
- MR 5. The device will not be fully automated, but will be simple to use.
- MR 6. The device will have significantly low-power consumption.
- MR 7. The device will capture pictures of a retina fundus images with high resolution.
- MR 8. The device contains enough storage space to maintain all programs and peripherals used by the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.
- MR 9. The device will be marketed toward trained physicians and health practitioners involved in treating patients in rural regions with limited access to ophthalmology testing technology throughout the world.
- MR 10. Users will have options to extract photos taken by the camera from the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B.
- ER 1. The accuracy of the scanning must be over 90% in order for the device to be reliable in determining the status of the picture.
- ER 2. Battery pack will power the device for a minimum of 6-7 hours of continuous use.
- ER 3. The device will consist of four components: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, ArduCAM (camera), Battery Pack, and LED box light.
- ER 4. The project requires interfacing MATLAB with the device but, minimal commands are used to execute the device.
- ER 5. The Raspberry Pi is the main power consuming component, using 5 V and a minimum current value of 2mA.
- ER 6. The camera used will have a resolution of 1280x720.
- ER 7. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B has a maximum RAM of 1GigaByte.
- ER 8. Functionality of the device will be a pre-cursor to taking a scan of a patient’s retina, a practice done by licensed individuals.
- ER 9. Photos will be saved in folders on the computer.
